Walking Zombie on the loose

I don't care if us students are supposed to be the most care-free people in this world. Because I just don't feel care-free at all.

I wake up most days at 4 in the morning (Stay up till 4 in the morning and the tears are pouring and I want to make it worth the fight~ << practically true except for the tears pouring part) just to finish the ever mounting homework. That used to be the exams-only rule. I don't know how I survived this long. SO most days, I look like a walking zombie with panda eyes. Hey, at least I amuse people right? Oh, GP classes started a while ago and I'm having a hard time channeling my inner-GP genius. Cos' sometimes, I JUST DON'T GET IT. Answering the comprehensions, you have to be straight to the point but have to beat around the bush for a bit. You have to go around explaining the metaphor then explain your explanation again. Teacher said she can't "feel" one of my answers this morning. Great. Please teach me how to make her "feel".

ANYWAY, exams are coming, an uhhhhh, can't seem to find the time to start the studying. I sense Dooms Day soon.

Enough with all that though. I have some good news.
For the preliminary round of the debate competition, we had 3 wins in a row, got to the semis with rank #1. :D Something totally new to me. Lost that match in the semis though. SIGH. It was a 2-1. Weren't as sad as I think I would be. It was one hell of an experience :)

OH. And I got accepted into JIS. Gonna start in August :)

I've also just read the most awesome book: The Sky is Everywhere by Jandy Nelson. It's funny, romantic, sad, happy, breath-taking at the same time. And did I mention that it's funny?

More soon.

Oops.

... ...In the midst of everything, I somehow unintentionally forgot to blog again. But it's OK, cos' here I am! :D

It's been the 3rd week since school started, ok well, the last week doesn't count since we're having the holidays. Again. But I can't believe how much I looked forward to it then, even after merely 2 weeks of school in SMSA. Oh, theoretically, it's called the "holidays" because we get to stay at home and not go to school, but the ever thoughtful teachers had given us have piles of homework to fill up the holidays, so as to ensure that we don't feel that "boring" this holiday. My physics teacher called it "Holiday Happiness (aka Homework lah!)". His words, not mine. He said holidays are for the teachers, in fact, everyone else at school, except for us, the poor students.

Anyway, surprisingly, I did not procrastinate this time, I finished my maths, bio and most of my phy homework the first 2 days. Trust me, I would have finished phy too if it weren't so, so hard. It's all settled now though, I asked the pros the other day, right after our lunch at Kaizen. We looked like a bunch of nerds LOL Just in time too, since school's starting tomorrow, or should I say, today, since it's 12:56a.m now. I should really be asleep by now. But oh, this is just one of those days when you're really really tired and you really really want to sleep but you JUST CAN'T. Sigh.

Putting on the tudung seems easier now, but I'm gonna wake up 10 minutes earlier later. Just in case. You know, just in case I forgot How To Put It On Just Right when I wake up later, cos' trust me, I didn't even give it a second look all through the holidays.

My brother participated in the Nature Camp organised by the Forestry Department this holiday so he didn't join us in Singapore. Trust me, the camp was the most luxurious one I've ever seen. The tents were already set up when we reached there (I tagged along just out of curiosity), complete with sockets for I-don't-know-what (since they're not allowed to bring mobile phones or iPods or whatever) and an electric fan for each team. Oh, and they have curry fish head for dinner the first night. I'm serious. They're there to enjoy LOL They're each given a notebook for the camp. When my bro showed it to me, I gasped. Cos' there we are, the PRYNSA gang, right there on the 1st page of the notebook! We looked happy =) Ahhhhhh, the PRYNSA days :D

The 2-and-a-half days S'pore trip was fun, I got to wander around alone a lot, which was something new to me. Didn't get to visit The Universal Studios though. They closed down the roller coaster, so I guess it's better to wait for it since what's a trip to a theme park without a roller coaster ride, right?

School starts in about 7 hours. Will have to work harder for school. The brain really does go rusty after almost 3 months of not using it. :D Plus, I need time to get used to the walking around too. Haha, rushing from this block to that, trying not to be late so that 1) you won't get scolded; and 2) your seat won't be taken, which, when happened, you'll end up sitting far more behind than you already are. Trust me, the size of every single one of my class is HUGE. Around 40 students per set? Yea. You don't want to be sitting too far behind.

I really really want to show you guys how I look in a tudung. But we're not allowed to. Come to think of it, I don't think the discipline asst. mentioned Blogger. So I guess it's... okay?

Spot the dork =)

This was taken during orientation. Our team came in third.

If I were asked to state one accomplishment since I've stepped into SMSA, it would be that I've made the SMSA debate team! There'll be a competition soon :O

More later.

Love you all,

THE Updateeeeeee

OK, so it's been a month. Well, nearly a month, but ah, that's not the point. I'm gonna keep this post light and breezy, I'm not gonna post about my "Hua Ho incident" (will tell you guys that next time), not gonna post about what is probably the happiest day of my life either (if you're wondering, it's the day we celebrated Wen's 18th b'day and Boy's farewell), neither am I going to post about the day the result came out, I got shivers just thinking about that fateful afternoon LOL, and nope, ain't gonna talk about my trip to JIS too.

So, first thing first, technically, the Chinese New Year will only end after tomorrow, so I guess it's never too late to say:

HAPPY CHINESE NEW YEAR~

I never knew I'd say this, but hey, I'm eager to go back to school. School's starting on the 4th, of march, of course, and I've been pretty excited. There's a catch though, I'll have to learn the art of tudung wearing. It's actually really tricky and then of course, there's also the fact that I look like a total dork in one =.=" Seriously, I got my cousin to help me, with my aunt standing beside us, snapping pictures furiously. I wouldn't be surprised if the pictures are gonna up on Facebook, and then the whole wide world can witness me and my tudung wearing dorky self.

You know how you would do a lot of things you wouldn't do normally when boredom strikes? Guess how I spent my boring days? I re-read every book in sight and downloaded loads and loads of movies off the internet LOL And not just any movies either, I've downloaded the oldies. You know the movies they always mention in books but then you just can't relate because you've never even watched them? Well, problem solved. I've watched Dirty Dancing (both 1 AND 2), Sixteen Candles, Pretty in Pink, Serendipity, Notting Hill, Pretty Woman, Ever After, The Princess Bride, Runaway Bride, When Harry Met Sally, Two Weeks Notice, While You Were Sleeping, The Notebook, I even re-watched Miss Congeniality 1 & 2. And the list goes on and on, I know that's a little overwhelming, but I've been really gung ho about watching them all LOL. And yep, all of them have been romantic comedies, sorry if you weren't a fan of the genre, but mind you, they're actually really good. I mean, take the Princess Bride, despite being produce in the year of 1987, it's WAY better than the ones produced recently. My favourite though, has to be Pretty Woman. I just can't get enough of it, it's definitely somewhere on top of my best movies of all time list.

I've also watched Glee, and Ting Wen is right. It's... weird but you can't stop watching it. I can't stop laughing at the scene where the whole football team danced to "Single Ladies" by Beyonce. I mean, trying picturing a group of macho footballers in your mind, complete with their helmet, shoulder pads and everything. Then imagine them all dancing like Beyonce did in her music video in the middle of the field while football game is still going on with spectators watching. Hilarious right?

Oh, and then there's also this Russian guy called Vitas. He has a gorgeous voice, and he can even sing the Dolphin vocal. You've got to watch this:

Ok, I think that's it for now. Ciao!

Smile.

If you smile through your pain and sorrow, maybe tomorrow you’ll see the sun come shining through the clouds. For you. =) So let our lives be filled with laughter and beautiful stories~ ♥

xoxo,

P.S. Here's something to brighten up your day:

OK, I don't think that's legible. Click the picture above for clearer/bigger/more legible pic. And I guarantee that it'll definitely worth the "click". =)

Reminiscing the times we spent together...

Live.Laugh.Love. We've been through them all...

Have I ever told you guys what I wrote in the PRYNSA magazine? Wen posted up a video on Facebook which pretty much compiled everything we've been through since first joining PRYNSA. I remember us being all awkward at the beginning because we don't really know each other all that well, I mean, 3 of us junior mixed up with 5 other seniors? I have no clue how our team would work out. Turns out, we hit it off. Watching the video, I was amazed by how much we've been through, how I have already forgotten some of the stuffs we had all laugh SO hard at. It really brought back memories. How can it all be over now? How can it be time to go our own ways? I'm glad that we stayed close, glad that we've bonded over PRYNSA. This is truly something precious, I've been watching the video again and again and again. Not knowing whether to laugh or cry each time. I'll post the video up here when I get it, or you guys can watch it over at youtube. This is what I wrote:

Nepenthes bicalcarata - a word that I can barely pronounce, let alone actually knowing what it actually is a year ago. PRYNSA changed that. It is now a plant that I've come to know and love. Its uniqueness is breathtaking; I'll choose Nepenthes bicalcarata over a bunch of roses any day! I can still recall the pure pride and joy when we first discovered it, now that is something I will never forget.

Yes, the competition is tough and yes, the forest trips are tiring and exhausting. But at the end of the day, it all boils down to teamwork and hard work. Learning to cooperate with teammates who have become more like a family and to bear the disappointments together when things didn't work out has helped us grow socially and emotionally. I'm proud to be part of the PRYNSA team and no matter what happen, I know that we're all in this together. Now, that's a relief, isn't it?

It's been a wonderful journey. Thank you, PRYNSA.

I meant every word then, and I still mean them now. We might have tailed the top 5, but we gained something even better. We gained our friendship, we gained happiness and we gained the times we spent together laughing :D Time spent with the Ohanas were definitely the highlights of my life. I'm really lucky to have you guys. <3

A little of everything (of the first 2 weeks of Jan 2010)

News flash: I got my hair cut real short.

Some of you has probably seen my new hairstyle. Truth to be told, I don't really like it. But gosh, my head feels SO light after the haircut, I don't really bother what kind of style I ended up having. (I can't tell immediately cos' I took of my glasses before and I'm as blind as a bat without them.) So yea, new look for a brand new year. Albeit a bad one, but oh, it'll grow back long before I know it, at least, that's what I'm trying to tell myself :D

Anyway, I've been spending the past mornings helping out over at kindergarten and will continue doing exactly that this week. It's crazy, but fun :D The kids can be demanding, asking you to help them put on their pants after they are done "shh-shh" and puking all over the place when they cried. But ah, it gets better day by day, they don't cry anymore and most of them has learnt the art of pants-wearing. There left only one of them though, who likes to lie on the floor or crouch on the floor when he doesn't get his ways. But guess what? He has a weakness too! He likes... *drumroll* YELLOW BALLOONS! He absolutely perks up this morning after hearing that whoever listens will be given a balloon! Somehow, I found that really endearing LOL Oh! And there's this one who told me that he saw his girlfriend after he came back from his bathroom trip. I was like -- O_O. Man! I've never had a boyfriend for my whole life and here he is, 4 years old and is happily announcing that his girlfriend is from K2 Blue! So cute XD Spending time with the kids bring back memories too, I was in K2 Yellow once upon a time, playing the same toys and singing/ dancing to the same songs. I'm happy that I've been given the opportunity to relive my kindergarten years. It's just too bad that these all will have to end this Saturday, and I'll have to look for something else to wake up to in the mornings =)

ANYWAY, Yan'll be leaving tomorrow. Time sure flies eh? I'll miss her SO much. Good luck, girl, I know you'll charm them all the minute you step into the room. And to whoever out there experiencing the same mixed feelings towards their future as I do, hang on, you know that everything will turn out just right in the end. After all, when a door closes, a window will be opened. This chapter of our lives might be ending, but you know the new chapter'll come soon enough, filled with even more interesting stuffs. :)
